Discourse Community Problem

Internet censorship is a growing problem through out the entire world. Internet censorship can be really traced back to tyrants who first started censoring the media then when the Internet came around started to censor it. Internet censorship is mainly well known in countries like China, Vietnam, and South Korea. China erected its Great Firewall in the year 2002 but many people use proxies to get around China’s firewall. The problem with censoring the Internet is the fact that it causes such a controversy. As seen through the most recent events involving SOPA and PIPA, many people gathered throughout the United States to protest against these bills that Congress wanted to enforce. Not only has protesting against Internet censorship started here in America but Europe has been recently protesting against a new treaty called ACTA. Many people in Europe are against the bill because it could cause many problems.
Though many people would love to censor the Internet on the bases of keeping the Internet free of pornography or anything of that nature, many people have a problem with that cause many people do not look at that stuff. Australia tried censoring the internet from pornography but had little success when the people started protesting.
The matter of the fact is that pornography and online illegal activity call for a better and more efficient way of controlling the Internet. With every illegal song or software downloaded many corporations lose money. So is internet censorship bad or good? Many people still protest against a problem that arises as a hard one to answer.
